Miller Road is our spacious Whitehouse development.
We have other plots available on this site, some with views of Whitehouse village and others with loch views. Three/four-bedroom storey and a half houses and bungalows are available.
As with all of our builds, these are built to a high standard, and are well insulated and considered to be exceptionally economical to run. Houses on this development have connected to fibre optic broadband and have speeds of up to 76MB.
My wife and I have in the past owned many new build properties, always taking the safe approach and buying from a large Group house builder offering you the perfect home in the perfect development, sometimes off plan sometimes not. However, the final product delivery from many of the large Group house builders never seems as perfect as they would like to portray. In 2017 we decided that it was time to move away from the urban sprawl and find somewhere different, peaceful and quiet. We had a rough idea of what we wanted from and eventual house and set a budget, the only problem was where. Having scoured the usual online estate agents we stumbled upon a custom build offering, in Whitehouse – we buy the plot and the builder offering the plot builds the house for you using a selection of designs – not something we had considered but on reflection it would give us what we wanted and this tick most of the boxes on our wish list, so we started to dig a little deeper.
Building a custom home, like any build project can be fraught with challenges and risk, first you have to find the right plot the right builder etc, and if you then throw into the mix solicitors, architects, Local planning and builders you quickly appreciate that things can go wrong and in many cases, when reading on the internet, many projects do. We met with the owner of the plots, builder Kenny Soudan (WK Soudan Ltd) who took us through the options available to us and after carrying out some further due diligence we decided we would proceed. The challenge for us was living so far away we would only be able to make a small number of site visits during the build – but we began and I glad to say that in November 2019 we moved into our new home – but there is more to the story than that.
That’s not to say there were not problems or issues along the way, of course there were, but Kenny always stayed in control and always ensured that we were kept in the loop at all times and was on hand whenever we need. When decisions had to be made Kenny was always open and honest about any considerations or challenges and would explain what the options were available to us and was there if we had any questions.
We cannot speak highly enough of WK Soudan Ltd, owned by Kenny Soudan. Kenny has built a fantastic team of tradesmen around him and leads very much by example insisting on top quality workmanship and ethics, a more honest, sincere and courteous builder you would be hard pushed to find which is also reflected throughout his team. The brickie’s, joiners, roofers, painters, plumbers and heating engineers whom make up the Soudan team – many whom we have come to know – are all quality tradesmen in their respective disciplines, but even more important than that they take pride in what they do and deliver a quality and finish, which in my humble opinion, is exceptional. The quality of service extends beyond the handing over of the keys!
Having the perfect team is one of the keys to a successful building business. But what makes a great team is a great leader.
